Lena Martell entered the public eye with in the 1970s with a self
titled tv show on BBC1 ("Presenting Lena Martell", 1971) and a number of
releases on the Pye label, although it was in 1979 that she hit the big
time with Lena's Music Album, which gave her her first number one single
- a cover of Kris Krisofferson's "One Day At A Time." Her recording career continued throughout the 80s and she retired in the early 90s. Her career had a recent fillip with a 2005 comeback, marked by the release of a new album, "My Homeland". Browse Lena Martell Shop |
