Adam Faith Adam Faith was born in West London, in 1940. His musical career began in 1957 with single releases that didn't get anywhere fast, but his first number one hit came two years later with "What Do You Want"

As well as a recording career, Faith also had success in TV & film, starring in a number of drama serials, such as Budgie and Love Hurts, and appeared in the Bowie film, Stardust.

He combined his day job as an entertainer with a number of off-shoot careers including financial journalist and music management.

He died in 2003 whilst on tour with a production of "Love and Marriage". It was reported that his last words were: ""Channel 5 is all shit, isn't it? Christ, the crap they put on there. It's a waste of space".
